Fall Volunteer Opportunities at the Glebe

All Hollow’s Eve is coming!

Saturday, October 20th, 2018

5:30 – 9:00 PM

Rain Date: Saturday, October 27th

Preparations have already begun for our legendary cemetery tour and haunted museum.

It takes 80+ volunteers to make this event possible and we would love for you to be part of the fun!

A volunteer meeting will be held, Saturday, September 29th at 2:00 pm at the Glebe House Museum. Please call 203-263-2855 to register.

Cemetery rehearsal will be held on Thursday, October 18th at 4:00 pm.

Volunteer experiences include:

  • Cemetery Actors: Portray one of Woodbury’s most notable or notorious citizens.

Students in grades 8-12 this is a fun way to earn community service hours!

  • Spirit Guides: Lead groups of visitors by lantern light, through the cemetery to meet local spirits.

  • Haunted Museum Help: Volunteers are needed to help set up during the week of October 15th and to break down the sets the week of November 5th.

  • All Hollow’s Eve event help:

  • Ticket Sales

  • Help place luminaries in cemetery

  • Parking Attendants

  • Evening Clean-up / After Event

  • Sunday morning: Luminary clean-up

Many volunteer activities are perfect for groups and students seeking community service hours.

Museum Hours:

The Museum will open for the 2025 regular season on Friday, May 2nd. 

Hours:

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 1:00 - 4:00 pm. Last guided tour at 3:20 pm.

The Gertrude Jekyll Garden:  Open year-round, 7 days per week, dawn-dusk, for self-guided tours.

 *Please excuse our appearance as our staff has begun restoration work in the Jekyll Garden.  The Garden will remain open to the public throughout the restoration.
