Glebe House Museum announces an all-new All Hollow’s Eve event,

The Haunted Hollow – Saturday, October 25

(Rain Date: November 1).

This reimagining of our popular cemetery tour combines the history of Woodbury’s Hollow with its beautiful architecture and fascinating residents. Participants will travel to another time as they walk Hollow Road, Doolittle Hill, and Main Street, meeting the ghosts of past residents and entering the Old South Cemetery to greet the spirits at rest there. You will be captivated by the architecture and history of the Hollow and Cemetery during our four daylight tours, while the three evening tours will feature spirits lurking in the shadows, guaranteed to give nightmares even to the bravest souls. Each tour is unique, as one never knows where an earth-bound spirit might appear in the ancient burial ground, listed as one of Connecticut’s most haunted sites.

Attendees will explore Woodbury’s “Hollow” and the old cemetery with their spirit guide, visiting the homes and final resting places of some of Woodbury’s most notable and notorious residents. Walk among the dead in burial grounds over 350 years old and hear stories of those who lie beneath your feet as their spirits rise for the occasion, eager to share their true and often dark stories. On the Glebe House Grounds, meet the Leatherman, who roamed much of western Connecticut in the late 1800s and made numerous stops in Woodbury, and Doctor Samuel Orton, who practiced medicine over 250 years ago and would be happy to diagnose your condition and apply some leeches.

Weather-appropriate clothing and comfortable shoes are recommended so you don’t become dead on your feet during the 45-minute walking portion of your evening’s experience. Participants are encouraged to bring a flashlight. Tour includes walking on sidewalks, on uneven ground, and up/down hills.

Tours will depart from the grounds of the Museum every half hour, beginning at 4:00 PM.  Daylight & Dusk Tours are at 4:00, 4:30, 5:00, 5:30, and 6:00 pm. Evening tours begin at 6:30, and 7:00 pm. Tickets for children will not be sold for the last 2 evening tours.

Space is limited – Advance ticket purchase is recommended.
