Glebe Receives Museum Makeover Grant

Glebe House Museum Receives Museum Makeover Grant

The Glebe House Museum gratefully acknowledges receipt of a Museum Makeover Grant that will provide consulting assistance and $4000 in funding to implement a self-guided tour and enhance the visitor experience.

Museum Makeover is a program of Conservation ConneCTion and is supported through a partnership with the Connecticut League of History Organization with a grant from the CT Cultural Fund, administered by CT Humanities (CTH), with funding provided by the Connecticut State Department of Economic and Community Development/Connecticut Office of the Arts (COA) from the Connecticut State Legislature.

The Glebe House Museum’s project will enable visitors to experience the main floor of the historic home through a self-guided tour. This will enhance the visitor experience when they attend museum open houses, special events and other times when guided tours are not available. It will also allow the Museum to develop specially themed tours, as well as increase the hours of operation. Although docent guided tours will still be offered, this project allows for more visitor opportunities and increased visitation.
