The Nutcracker: Musical Readers Program with the Waterbury Symphony Orchestra


Young children will delight in this program that presents a musical narration of a beloved children's book in a unique setting. Using words and music of the violin the story of the "Nutcracker" will be brought to life in the keeping room of the historic Glebe House Museum. Children will have the opportunity to touch and try the instrument at the end of the program.

In addition : The Museum will be presenting its Open House & Holiday Boutique until 3:00 PM. Guests are welcome to explore the historic Glebe House (main floor) which will be decorated for the holidays. Please see our "Holiday Happenings" post for more details.

Museum Hours:

The Museum is open for the 2024 Season.

**Current preservation work may impact access to site. Please see our Hours & Admissions tab for updates. 

The Museum is open for tours on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 1 - 4 pm through October 6th.

The last guided tour begins at 3:30 pm.

The Museum Shoppe is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 1 - 4 pm.

Guided Tour Admission:

Adults- $7.00 / Children 6-12 - $2:00 / Children 5 & under - Free

The Gertrude Jekyll Garden:

Open year round, 7 days per week, dawn-dusk, for self-guided tours.

Garden Only-Suggested Donation: $2.00

 *Please excuse our appearance as our staff has begun restoration work in the Jekyll Garden. The Garden will remain open to the public throughout the restoration.
